Irises of Sweet Gum Hill

First emerge from an isolated bed, a variety of large irises we call "Saruman"  beards of yellow, white falls, and standards, with a smoldering anther.

Then comes a slightly shorter variety we call "Radagast."  Note the dusty pink hue of the multicolored standards. We are working on this variety to produce a blood red, we hope, variety that we can call "The Eye of Sauron."

Then Gimli; it's all about the beard with the white edges and a heart of gold.

Then comes "Alatar," the last of the Early Varieties:
