Laurel devotes her Summer to an internship at Shaver's Creek Environmental Center.
That's "Thistle" leaning farthest forward in the second row. With the official title of "Environmental Education Intern," Laurel spends her time introducing youngsters to the wonders of Nature in the ethical labratory of Shaver's Creek.
One day, Mom and Dad show up outside the Shaver's Creek gift shop. Thistle has no time for diversions. Till Dad suggests ice cream. Well, that's different!
